One of the most popular DSLR cameras for video production, especially with YouTubers, this camera gets great value for the price.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

This lens was actually bundled with the camera, and I wasn’t expecting to use it much (I have bought a 50mm lens that I thought I’d be using for the videos) but the flexibility of this lens won me over, and for small spaces you can cover much more due to the wide angle range.

EF 50mm f/1.8 II

This is my secondary lens. I use it for close-up shots or product shots, where you might want a lot of depth-of-field.

Rode VideoMic Pro

One of the most popular easy-to-use shotgun mics for DSLRs, the VideoMic Pro connects directly to your camera, and as long as you’re not too far away it will record great audio.

Samson C03U

I use this microphone for all my voice-over work. It sits comfortably on my desk, on a nice tiny tripod, and whenever I record a tutorial or any other video that doesn’t require me on video, this is the mic I use.

Parrot Teleprompter

This nifty little device connects directly to your lens, and uses your smartphone to reflect the text through a one sided mirror. Probably the cheapest teleprompter you can get for the quality you get (these things can get expensive), and as long as you don’t need a huge screen to read – this is the best teleprompter on a budget.

Polaroid 72″ Tripod

Nothing special about this tripod, really, but for $40 it’s solid. Tall enough, sturdy enough, and as long as you’re not planning any subtle pan moves or mount insane rigs on it, you won’t be disappointed.

Green Screen / Blue Screen

This pop-out background panel from CowboyStudio is a solid green/blue screen solution on the cheap. It’s rather large (though it folds into a small circle), but not expensive. if you’re looking for a compact green screen for in-the-apartment shooting, you can’t go wrong with this one.
